Rider Bio:
Anna Sanchis was born on the 18th October 1987 in Genoves, Valencia, Spain. Daughter of former professional José Salvador Sanchis, Anna began her career in 2007, finishing seventh in her debut at the Giro Donne the following year. In 2009 she rode for the Italian Safi-Pasta Zara team before returning to Spain to ride for the Bizkaia-Durango team. She rode for Bizkaia-Durango for four years before switching to the Wiggle High5 team in 2014.
The 26-year-old graduated Doctor from the Communidad Valenciana region of western Spain is the reigning Spanish time trial and road champion. For Sanchis it was her fourth and fifth national title in her career as she won the Time Trial as well in 2012 and 2013 and the road race in 2012.
In 2014 Anna didn’t race much due to her study and illness with kept her sidelined for a while. Unfortunately the bad luck returned in 2015 when she fractured her collarbone in the Giro Rosa just one week after winning the Spanish National Championships. The fractured collarbone kept her sidelined for the majority of the 2015 season but she managed to return in competition in the La Madrid Challenge and represented Spain at the World Championships in Richmond, USA.
Anna is an excellent all-rounder, capable of achieving results on a large variety of terrain. Her all-round ability to climb and time trial will make her a valuable asset to the team in stage races and hilly one-day races.
Results:
2012, 2013, 2015 ITT National Champion
2012, 2015 Road National Champion
