Rider Bio:
Amy Roberts was born on 24 December 1994 in Cardiff, Wales. Roberts has proven herself to be a very promising young talent across a number of cycling disciplines on both the track and road. As a member of the London Olympics Development Program, Amy represented Great Britain in both the 2012 World Junior Track and Road Cycling Championships. In 2013 Amy made the transition to the elite ranks on the road; however her hard work and demonstrated talent shows that she is a future star in the making.
2012 was a very successful year for Roberts, which saw her collect titles at the World, European and British National Junior Track Cycling Championships. Amy was also a member of the 2012 Junior British Road World Cycling team and played an integral role in selflessly helping teammate Lucy Garner claim the World Title in Valkenburg, The Netherlands. Roberts has since made a successful transition to the elite ranks and further proving herself as a future star.
Over the past three years on the team Amy developed into a valuable athlete for the team. Next to that she won several domestic races in the UK and in November 2014 she won the team pursuit at the Track World Cup in Mexico.
Roberts has been part of the team since its inception in 2013. Her 2015 season suffered a setback as she fractured her collarbone in Dwars door de Westhoek late April, but the Welsh talent returned at the Great Britain National Championships, where she lit up the race as part of a long, mid-race attack. Since then she managed to finish third at the National Criterium Chamionships and was part of the winning team around Jolien D’hoore in the BeNe Ladies Tour.
