Today’s Tip: When you set off with a tailwind, don’t get too excited and push it, save it for the return into a headwind. When you’re floating along with the wind behind you and you feel like you want to be a rocket – just keep saying in your head; soft pedal, soft pedal, soft pedal.
The weather was perfect for my first ride in Mallorca on this trip. I’ve been here 3 times before…. Once last year when I was here for a week cycling and fell in love with the island, the 2nd trip was for our team media camp this February and the last trip was only a few weeks ago when I was here cycling with Sean Kelly and his tour groups.
I’m back again and seriously thinking about setting up base here! Why? I love the sun, smooth roads and the fact that there’s so many cyclist here. It’s my heaven. I’m staying at a resort near the beach with a great feeling and lifestyle. Viva Zafiro, Puerto de Alcudia = HEAVEN!
Today’s ride was a calm flat ride out past Arta to Cala Rajada. The road starts off a little boring but then you wind and climb a little and you see some gorgeous scenery and then you pop over the last rise and see the ocean! I’d often select this ride for the first day as it’s flat..ish…. and whilst some would describe the out and back ride as boring…. The positive is, the next day’s scenery only gets better!
What did I consume on today’s ride?
2 x 750ml bottles and 1 x 500m bottle of High5’s Tropical (Holiday Flavour) Zero.
1 x High5 Berry Sports Bar
That’s all!
Stay tuned for tomorrow’s blog!
