Technical Review: Deda Elementi Zero100 Handlebar and Stem

In the first of a series of technical reviews, Wiggle Honda Pro Cycling team mechanic Adam Nordmeyer takes a look at the Deda Elementi Zero100 Handlebar and Stem combination as ridden by our riders.

Deda Elementi Zero100 Handlebar

Techincal Info:

Weight- 242 Grams (varies on bar width)

Material- 7075 Triple Butted Alloy

Finish- Classic Black Matte

Deda has outdone themselves this year, designing a great bar for riders of all skills and terrain variety with the Zero 100.  The bar features the new RHM (Rapid Hand Motion) technology, which has been crafted to enable a faster transfer from the hoods or tops of the bar to the flats or “drops”.  RHM technology has certainly helped our Wiggle Honda riders by quickly enabling them to transfer their position on the handle bars when low on the front end of the bike screaming down a decent, to a then more upright position when they start climbing the next hill in front of them.  The Zero 100 has a classic finish and looks classy with its match Zero 100 Servizio Corse Stem.  The bar’s stiffness is due to the 7075 Triple Butted Alloy, making for a very reactive bar in the sprint with minimal flex and also enabling them to withstand the tough, grueling conditions professional cycling can throw at them. Deda bars have been a vital contributor to the success of the Wiggle Honda Women’s Pro Cycling Team to date with the team riding Deda bars to a win at Omloop Het Van Hageland Tielt-Winge, the Points Jersey at Le Samyn and a Third Place on stage 3 of The Ladies Tour of Qatar.

Material- 3D forged Alloy with stress directional fiber orientation

Finish- Classic Black Matte

The Zero 100 Servizio Corse Stem is the ideal stem for all riders; its snappy, stiff, absorbing and classy looking.  Our riders praised this stem from the second they jumped out of the saddle and sprinted on the flats of Qatar at our first race of the season.  As a mechanic, nothing is better when your riders come to you and their faces are lit up with glee over how great feeling their bar and stem combination is.  The Zero 100 Bar and Zero 100 Servizio Corse stem are the perfect combination of stiffness, comfort and control for every rider!
