Dani King takes stunning solo victory in first ever women’s Milk Race

Wiggle Honda Pro Cycling’s World and Olympic champion Dani King took a stunning victory in the first ever women’s Milk Race, in Nottingham’s historic city centre, as she escaped the peloton after just 20 minutes and soloed to the finish. Having ridden away from the best riders in the British women’s peloton, King powered around the 1.2km city centre circuit, increasing her lead lap on lap, to finish more than a minute ahead of the chasing bunch. “I’m really, really happy to get my first win for the Wiggle Honda team,” King said after the...

Fifth place for Lauren Kitchen in the Omloop van Aalburg

Wiggle Honda Pro Cycling’s Lauren Kitchen finished a fine fifth place in the Rabobank 7-Dorpenomloop van Aalburg in the North Brabant province of the Netherlands. The Australian managed to get into a seven-rider selection of big names that formed in the closing laps of the 121.2km race – which was made up of three 28.5km loops, followed by three 11.5km circuits – and only just missed out on the podium places in the sprint for the line. Kitchen also won the race’s first two intermediate sprints as the peloton crossed the finish...

A good learning experience for Wiggle Honda in the Boels Hills Classic

It was a good learning experience for the riders of Wiggle Honda Pro Cycling in today’s Boels Rentals Hills Classic, one of the toughest races in the Netherlands. Dani King was the black and orange team’s best finisher in 26th place, with teammate Laura Trott just a few places behind in 33rd, as both World and Olympic champions finished comfortably in the second group on the road. “We didn’t really have a designated leader, because they’re all on the same level,” explained Wiggle Honda Pro Cycling directeur sportif Simon Cope. “The plan was...

Giorgia Bronzini wins overall Tour of Zhoushan Island

Wiggle Honda Pro Cycling’s Giorgia Bronzini took her first ever overall stage race victory in the 2013 Tour of Zhoushan Island, in China, as she held on to her overall lead on the hilly final stage. With only second place overall Elisa Longo Borghini (Hitec Products) to worry about in the general classification, the two-time former World champion managed to stay with the Trofeo Binda World Cup race winning climber on the hilly course, and finished one place ahead of her at the finish. The stage was won by Longo Borghini’s teammate Cecilie...

Wiggle Honda Pro Cycling’s Giorgia Bronzini maintained her overall lead in the Tour of Zhoushan Island as she sprinted to second place on the second stage of the race. In a chaotic final few hundred metres the former two-time World champion was just beaten to the line by Norwegian Cecilie Johnsen (Hitec Products) at the end of the flat 89.7km stage. Bronzini comments on her Campagnolo EPS super record components

What comes up in your mind when I ask you about cycling and Italy? For sure one of the first words will be Campagnolo. It’s probably the most famous brand from Italy. I’m proud to ride Campagnolo on my bike this year, even if I’m Italian, I can say – it’s defiantly the best shifter in the world. Having the possibility to change gears as fast as you want, to know its working correct in every race is just giving me a one hundred percent safe feeling on the bike. I’ve already won four races this year on my Colnago with...
